Issue #02, Page 01

So here it is finally, the long awaited first page of issue #02. The plan for the next few weeks is to release a page a week. At last count issue #02 will be 50 pages long. Jo'naas and Jared take a long needed shore leave. And it promise to be quite an adventure. So sit back and enjoy!

I’m still slaving away at cranking out the next issue. The story has been written but the images do take time. And to tide you over while you wait, here’s an image of B’rel sporting his latest look. I was finally able to render his ears the way I had envisioned them so long ago. Enjoy!

Scene concepts part 2

This week’s entry we’re going to take a look at Jo’naas’ and Jared’s quarters. First is a shot of the common area. It is the first room one enters from the corridor. Each bedroom opens off of the common area.

Another view of Jo’naas’s room. I haven’t set up the specifics for Jared’s bedroom as of yet because the current story doesn’t involve his room. Maybe a future story will require putting together what his room will look like.

This week’s entry is about different sets used in The Final Frontier comic. First we have few shots of the Captain’s ready room.

And here we have the mess hall on board the Odyssey.

Jo'naas' Family

While I'm still working on the next story, which takes place on Jo'naas' homeworld of Volara, I thought I would introduce you to some of the supporting characters of the story. For a little back story about Volarans for those who arent that familiar, Volaran culture is such that they don't wear clothes in the traditional sense. Instead they tend to wear tattoos, which thanks to their technology, they can change on a whim. Much like we would change a shirt.

One of the main reasons for Jo'naas' trip is to celebrate his father's 100th birthday. His father's name is Ab'naar. Older Volarans don't wear the tattoos like the younger ones. They've opted to wear body jewelry.

This is Jo'naas' mother, Ut'tara.

And this is his younger sister, Par'vati. She's a bit mischevious and flirtatious.

And this is Jo'naas' ex-boyfriend, Ti'von. They were together for a few years before Jo'naas accepted the navigator positon aboard the Odyssey. Their relationship is somewhat friendly but other times...

And that’s just some of the supporting characters in the upcoming story. I will try to post more background info, like scenes and other characters as I get the opportunity.

Jan 2013 Update

Just to keep my avid readers in the loop. I haven't disappeared. I'm busily writing the next installment in the adventures of the Odyssey crew. The next installment has a confrontation with the Erazi as well as a birthday celebration and some pranks along the way. Real life as been slowing down the progress, but I hope to be finished with the story part soon and then will begin the illustrations. I'll try and post some more character backgrounds when I get a chance.
